CLIMATE CHANGE

According to the A2 climate change scenario of Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), by 2100, if the sea level rises to 1m, 85% of the Mekong Delta will be submerged. Of all the provinces in the Mekong Delta, the natural land and coastal land for aquaculture farming of the two following provinces will totally disappear:

👉 Tra Vinh: 45.7%

👉 Soc Trang: 43.7%

Apparently, the area suffers from severe effects, and relevant solutions are urgently required. Planting mangroves is one of the most vital methods to help the Delta prevent climate change’s negative impacts. And why are mangroves important? Because mangroves help:

🌱 Absorb CO2

🌱 Protect inland from coastal erosion

🌱 Reduce impacts from storms and tsunamis

🌱 Purify water quality

🌱 Provide nursery habitat for fish, crabs, shrimps, clams…

🌱 Become shelter for humans & wildlife animals

Mangrove Planting Experience

Here is what you can contribute to the Earth, just plant more mangroves! Have you ever heard about Mangrove Planting Experience or MPE? It is not a tour, but a social activity to show how much you care to our planet.

Despite not an environmental activist, you can experience planting mangroves with us to understand how the planting process is. The experience will allow you to realize that environmental protection is extremely challenging but also joyful.

THE 2022 US – VIETNAM ENVIRONMENTAL EXCHANGE

Trà Vinh, July 24, 2022 – The 2022 US – Vietnam Environmental Exchange selected mangroves as its final part in Cau Ngang district of Tra Vinh province, during the journey from North to South. This event is organized by the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh city in collaboration with Dream & Do Social enterprise and MangLub Vietnam Social Enterprise.

YVES ROCHER VIETNAM: PLANT FOR LIFE

Plant for Life is a journey to green the Mekong Delta, specifically My Long Nam commune, Cau Ngang district, Tra Vinh province, sponsored by YVES ROCHER VN, in collaboration with MSD United Way VN.

HAPAG - LLOYD VIETNAM: MANGROVE PLANTING DAY - A PART OF SEED FOR SEA

Tra Vinh, October 2022 – Hapag Lloyd Vietnam eagerly organized a CSR tour for its team to plant 200 Rhizohora Apiculata mangrove trees in Cau Ngang district of Tra Vinh province on October 21, 2022.

SK INNOVATION (SÓC TRĂNG) - 2023

SK Innovation (SKI), which has been Korea’s representative energy and chemical company for the past 50 years, has made its long – term commitment to mangrove reforestation in Tra Vinh province since 2018. By partnering with UNEP Korea in 2019, 2020, and 2021, and with United Ways in 2022, and by authorizing MangLub VN Social Enterprise for its projects in Tra Vinh, SKI planted about 592,224 trees with a coverage of 164 ha.

Please kindly be informed that:

We have the rights to refuse any visitors for our convenience.
We must get approval for your visit if the visit will be in the preventive mangrove forests.
This application is free and made by ourselves.
Therefore, you may be asked to email your passport copies.

General information:
1. MangLub VN team doesn’t own any cars or boats to reduce carbon emission
2. The mangrove sites are around the islets and along the riverside. You will need to take care to reach the boat station (at least 45 minutes or one hour to drive from Tra Vinh town to these sites by car), and from there, you will take small or big boat to see the mangrove forests.
3. You are expected to cover these expenses by yourself. Please kindly find the price below:
a. Car: it depends on from your departure place.
b. Small boat: 1,000,000VND/boat (about 42USD/boat). A boat can take 4 – 5 persons
c. Big boat: 2,000,000 VND (about 84USD/boat). A boat can take 50 persons.

4. If we have business trips during your visit, we will offer you a drive for free.

5. We are a social enterprise majoring in mangrove services. Therefore, we only welcome those who are interested in mangrove and natures, and follow Vietnamese laws. This also explains that we don't involve in any matters related to politics.
