PLANTING COMMENCEMENT OF 2 HECTARES OF SONNERATIA CASEOLARIS AT TRUNG THANH DONG COMMUNE, VUNG LIEM DISTRICT, VINH LONG PROVINCE.
On August 11, 2023, the two – hectare project of Sonneratia Caseolaris funded by SK Innovation was launched officially at Trung Thanh Dong commune, Vung Liem district, Vinh Long province. This is a four – year project which will end in 2026. And it is a part of the effort of mangrove reforestation of 38 hectares including Tra Vinh and Soc Trang.
Trung Thanh Dong commune has witnessed lots of serious land erosion during many years. It has made local authorities find out solutions. With its special root structure, Sonneratica Caseolaris is considered the hope for this situation.
Under the authorization by SK Innovation, MangLub VN planted one hectare for the first period from Aug. 11 to 13, 2023 and the second period from Aug. 24 to 27, 2023. The project also sponsors educational campaigns in Vinh Long province to raise the awareness of the mangrove importance to the local youths.
